Morning time in gyms is probably it’s busiest time but are the people who train at this time doing as well as they should and could be doing? We begin our day at 6.00am with our mens group and we have a small number of people in at this time who workout on their own.
Straight away I have spotted one big advantage of the people WE train as opposed to those who train alone – the people we train rarely miss a training session whilst the ones who train alone miss sessions regularly. When you are committed to something you will find a way but when you are not committed you will find an excuse.
Training early can be hard if your preparation time is not enough – in an ideal world we would be up a few hours and would have our breakfast etc. But when training this early its not possible to have all this preparation time unless your in bed super early the night before. But there are things you should do to optimize results.
1. Shower – yes shower before you train. Why? Because it will make you feel better and you will be more ‘awake’ and prepared for your session.
2. Swap Breakfast for Amino Acids – Eating breakfast before training very early is going to be too hard for you but I would still advise you to have something in the tank so you can preserve your muscle while you train. Remember we don’t want to lose muscle. I would advise taking 30 mins before session.
3. Coffee – if your lean enough can work great for extra fat loss. Always use an organic coffee and adding in coconut oil or MCT oil can do wonders for your session and give you a serious kick!
4. Don’t fu*k about – if you are going to wake up early and train then DON’T go through the motions. Smash your session and then go enjoy your day/evening off!
5. Post training – straight after have your amino acids/protein drink and if your lean enough we base a carb amount for you. Following this we need to make sure our next meal has a light source of protein, good source of carbs and a small amount of healthy fats.
