The anual christmas day swim took part on Balbriggan beach again this year and it was amazing to see such a large turnout of swimmers and observers. It was great to see so many members from ProFitness Gym either swimming or supporting. It was even more special because we were swimming in aid of ‘Remember Us’ an excellent charity who help a member of our Gym and some other ProFitness Gym members took the plunge in aid of another friend of ours who is winning
The day went off extremely well with the temperature out side of the water a very mild 10 degrees (a big change on last years -10 degrees). People didnt spend long in the water but they got in and raised money which is what the swim/run into the water is all about ! There were numerous people on hand with hot soup to warm us up when we got out which was a welcome bit of heat ! An hour later and the beach was empty!
If we get the long overdue Ice baths in to the Gym then Balbriggan beach might have to wait another year before we decide to get back in for a dip!
