We have been getting quite a lot of emails and questions from people in the Gym about healthy snacks. You probably fall into this category too (not many people dont!) and find it hard to know whats good for you between meals. You may also have seen many debates on various websites about fruit and is it actually that good for us. There are points for both sides of the argument – eating too much high sugar fruits may cause you to increase you waist line, eating too little and you are missing out on vital nutrients. You may also fall into the category of not consuming any fruit at all and if you still crave something sweet then a ‘Healthy Pina Colada’ is a tasty snack containing many nutrients that tastes amazing!
Our Healthy Pina Colada smoothy is is a nutritious and delicious snack that is quick and easy to prepare. It is very easily digestible and is also a great snack for your kids!
Serves 2
1 Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Organic Coconut Oil at room temperature (sold at most health stores, contact us if you cant get it)
1 Cup fresh Frozen Milk (as above)
12 ounces frozen pineapple cubes
Pineapple wedges
Combine water, coconut oil, and coconut milk in a blender. Puree until smooth. Add pineapple cubes and puree untill thouroghly combined.
Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with pineapple wedges.
P.S close your eyes, sit in a warm room use a straw if you want to imagine your out of Ireland and in sunny climes!!!
